Jay-Z "I Know" feat. Zoe Kravitz

Jay-Z follows up his "Roc Boys" video with an artistic video featuring Zoe Kravitz (daughter of musician, Lenny Kravitz). American Gangsta was a decent effort and Jigga Man has decided to go on tour with none other than the queen of Hip-Hop/Soul, Mary J. Blige, as she supports her latest Growing Pains.

Got to give it to Jay-Z. He is constantly stepping his game up and challenging artist to be more original. Not really sure what Zoe Kravitz career goals are besides being eye candy, but, hopefully, she is trying to be a serious actress which I might be able to buy after her performance in this video.

Mariah Carey's New Video- "Touch My Body"

This is Mariah's new video for the future #1 single, "Touch My Body". I must say Mariah is looking better than ever in this new clip and this hilarious video compliments the song very well. Good to see Mariah can still have fun with her music.

Expect to hear the song every five minutes on radio, and see this video in heavy rotation on BET, MTV, and VH1 (do any of those channels still play videos?). Mariah's album E=MC2 drops April 15th till then enjoy the new video and all that is Mimi. FYI: This will be Mariah's 18th #1 hit on the Billboard Charts. This song currently has an audience impression of over 60 million in just a little over a week at radio.

Lenzism Gets Political!

Photobucket

I know Lenzism is the last place you'd expect to hear anything political but I read an interesting little tidbit that i'd like to share. For all the political heads out there the argument is after the jump. Oh and don't hesitate to voice your opinion. If you have one...

Senator Clinton has based her campaign on an erroneous claim to greater legislative and administrative experience. Former President Clinton talks up her role in his administration on the campaign trail but pointedly refuses to release any documents that would provide greater details on her actual activities there. It is broadly understood that Hillary spearheaded the response team that staved off Republican attacks and spun the many scandals of the Clinton years. As to her Sen ate record, no one in the press has had the diligence to lay out her record for the public to assess.

Senator Clinton, who has served only one full term (6yrs.), and another year campaigning, has managed to author and pass into law, (20) twenty pieces of legislation in her first six years.
These bills can be found on the website of the Library of Congress (www.thomas.loc.gov), but to save you trouble, I'll post them here for you.

1. Establish the Kate Mullany National Historic Site.
2. Support the goals and ideals of Better Hearing and Speech Month.
3. Recognize the Ellis Island Medal of Honor.
4. Name courthouse after Thurgood Marshall.
5. Name courthouse after James L. Watson.
6. Name post office after Jonn A. O'Shea.
7. Designate Aug. 7, 2003, as National Purple Heart Recognition Day.
8. Support the goals and ideals of National Purple Heart Recognition Day.
9. Honor the life and legacy of Alexander Hamilton on the bicentennial of his death.
10. Congratulate the Syracuse Univ. Orange Men's Lacrosse Team on winning the championship.
11. Congratulate the Le Moyne College Dolphins Men's Lacrosse Team on winning the championship.
12. Establish the 225th Anniversary of the American Revolution Commemorative Program.
13. Name post office after Sergeant Riayan A. Tejeda.
14. Honor Shirley Chisholm for her service to the nation and express condolences on her death.
15. Honor John J. Downing, Brian Fahey, and Harry Ford, firefighters who lost their lives on duty.

Only five of Clinton's bills are more substantive.

16. Extend period of unemployment assistance to victims of 9/11.
17. Pay for city projects in response to 9/11
18. Assist landmine victims in other countries.
19. Assist family caregivers in accessing affordable respite care.
20. Designate part of the National Forest System in Puerto Rico as protected in the wilderness preservation system.

There you have it, the facts straight from the Senate Record.

Now, I would post those of Obama's, but the list is too substantive, so I'll mainly categorize. During the first (8) eight years of his elected service he sponsored over 820 bills. He introduced

233 regarding healthcare reform,
125 on poverty and public assistance,
112 crime fighting bills,
97 economic bills,
60 human rights and anti-discrimination bills,
21 ethics reform bills,
15 gun control,
6 veterans affairs and many others.

His first year in the U.S. Senate, he authored 152 bills and co-sponsored another 427. These included:
**the Coburn-Obama Government Transparen cy Act of 2006 (became law),
**The Lugar-Obama Nuclear Non-proliferation and Conventional Weapons Threat Reduction Act, (became law),
**The Comprehensive Immigration Reform Act, passed the Senate,
**The 2007 Government Ethics Bill, (became law),
**The Protection Against Excessive Executive Compensation Bill, (In committee), and many more.

PETA Has Jokes!

aretha

PETA has to be one of the most Ni66erish (it's a real word, look it up) organization out there. All they do is throw paint and come at peoples necks. I love it.

In an open letter to Aretha Franklin, Dan Matthews, President, writes:
"Music lovers may think of you as a 'queen,' but to animal lovers, you are a court jester . . . Why not shed the old-fashioned look that adds pounds to your frame and detracts from your beautiful voice? Please consider donating your furs to the homeless as 'queen of compassion,' Mariah Carey, did. You'll get a tax credit for the donation, and we at PETA will all sing your praises."

Thanks Polow! Here it is "Love In This Club" Feat. Jeezy

Usher

According to Polow Da Don, he had to "leak" Usher's new single "Love In This Club". Apparentely Usher called him and said "Why'd you do that?". Well, stop crying Usher the song is one of the fastest growing songs on radio right now. The song is pretty amazing and will definitely be a hit, but can Usher deliver a bigger album than 2004's Confessions?

This track sounds unlike anything Usher has ever done before. I must admit I wasn't expected this, but I'm pleasantly suprised. Several other tracks have leaked from Usher's still-yet-to-be-titled album which still has no release date.

Haute Flash Of The Day: Adidas/NBA Homecooked Collection

Photobucket
Photobucket
This is the first release of the adidas/NBA HomeCooked collection, N'awlins. "The adidas/NBA HomeCooked collection is a vibrant and eclectic collection of track jackets, swingman jerseys, tees, hats and EQT Mid shoes," Kari Cruz, public relations personnel of adidas. The jacket is Haute but I'm not sure if I am really feeling the shoes all that much and it definitely would not be Haute if the two were worn together.

more info about the collection after the jump.

The adidas/NBA HomeCooked collection debuted this weekend in New Orleans during the All-Star Games at the NBA Store inside NBA All-Star Jam Session and the Champs Store on Canal Street. Though we always try to put you up on the "new new" Haute Sh!t, the official launch of the adidas/NBA HomeCooked collection isn't until March 1st. You'll be able to find this collection at places like Atmos, Flight Club and Shoe Gallery. The cost to floss in this gear ranges from $35 -$125 and footwear will cost you a buck [ie $100.00]. The adidas/NBA HomeCooked collection will also be available at the NBA Store in New York and online at NBAStore.com though only the N'awlins shoe will be the only shoe designed on the ProModel Low form within the HomeCooked Collection.
The complete adidas/NBA HomeCooked collection includes:
Chicago – The Windy City
Cleveland – The Comeback City
Denver – The Key to the Rockies
Detroit – The Motor City
Houston – The Space City
Los Angeles – The City of Angels
Miami – The Great American Riviera
New Orleans – N'awlins
New York – The City that Never Sleeps
I say this collection is pretty Haute though I'm not sure if I like all of the color combos but they are extra WACK for not having ATL or DC! What's up with that? We like it HomeCooked' too!

The Rumors are True: Girlfriends Get Canned!

After nearly eight seasons, the rumors circluating thatthe long running hit series Girlfriends would be cancelled have been confirdmed. The show was cancelled Monday. Yea, without neary a cast party or even a last episode. Reports say the cast was notified by phone by show creator Mara Brock Akil.
The announcement was made after the last episode, directed by Tracee Ellis Ross, aired Monday night. And the network is laying the smackdown on any fan who might dare to demand a final episode.
A statement made by CW Rep Melissa Burton:

The prolonged strike has changed business conditions and our programming strategy for the balance of the 2007/08 season. To better focus its creative and financial resources, The CW will only resume production on shows that are in consideration for renewal next year. As a result, we will not order additional episodes of the long-running comedy, `Girlfriends,' which planned to conclude its 8-year run at the end of this season. This was a very difficult decision for us, and was based solely on the considerable cost to license each episode in an extremely unusual business environment.

The affection, appreciation and respect for the show's accomplishments and the talents of the artists could not be greater. 'Girlfriends' was a landmark comedy that helped anchor important nights for both The CW and UPN, and proved to be one of the most enduring and popular shows in TV history with African-American viewers.

We would like to express our heartfelt thanks for eight great seasons from creator Mara Brock Akil, stars Tracee Ellis Ross, Golden Brooks, Persia White, Jill Marie Jones, Reggie Hayes, Khalil Kain, Keesha Sharp and all the cast, crew and production who have worked on the show. We are in discussions with Mara and the cast to bring closure to the show and its fans with a retrospective special to air this season."

Ashanti's New Video: "The Way That I Love You"

The way I see it...Ashanti is trying to claim her throne back from Keyshia Cole, you know the Mary J. Blige comparison throne. If you think back to 2002 when Ashanti first appeared on the scene, industry critics hailed Ashanti's as this generation's Mary J. Blige with less vocal talent. Fastforward to 2006 and Keyshia Cole draws the same comparison, however, vocally, considered the rightful heir to the Hip/Hop & R&B throne.
Well, Ashanti has decided that it's time to remind fans why they fell in love with her in the first place. On first single, "The Way That I Love You", Ashanti shows vocal growth and the video treatment is unique and entertaining. Just watch and see....It's MURDAAAA!!!!!

Mama Norwood Speaks: "It Ain't My Fault I Gotta Sue this Girl"

Notorious stage momager Sonja Norwood has decided to sue Kim Kardashian against the wishes of her singing son and daughter, Brandy and Ray-J.
Kim K. served as a stylist for both Brandy and Ray-J in 2004. And then there was that whole sex tape thing. So suffice it to say...B-Rocka and Ray-J are close to the girl.
Mama Norwood insists that even though Kimmy allegedly spent $120,000 more than she was supposed to in the capacity of stylist, the last thing she wants to do is sue.
Her most recent statement:

I did not want to commence litigation against the Kardashian family without conducting an exhaustive investigation into the charges and discussing all options, including criminal prosecution, with my family.
After Ray J and Brandy urged me not to file criminal charges because of their prior friendship, I decided to afford the Kardashians an opportunity to resolve this matter without a lawsuit. When the fraudulent charges were brought to their attention, they apologized profusely, and advised us, through their attorneys, that they would pay the debt in full. However, they have since reneged on that promise.
My investigation has revealed that the Kardashians used their two stores and other stores that I have never visited to take advantage of me. I very much look forward to having the Kardashians account for their misconduct in a court of law.

Guess the sex tape money is running out and Mama Norwood's gotta get a new source of income to bury the vehicular manslaughter case even further.

Heath Ledgers Death An Accident

Photobucket

I'm starting to get a little scared here of over the counter drugs. First Pimp C and now Heath Ledger? I'm sticking to hot tea and chicken soup for now on...
The NYC medical examiner has finished the toxicology report following the death of Heath Ledger, and has just ruled that the actor's death was caused by acute intoxication by the combined effects of oxycodone, hydrocodone, diazepam, temazepam, alprazolam, and doxylamine

The NYPD found five different medications in Ledger's apartment after his death, including anti-anxiety medications Alprazolam (Xanax), Diazepam (Valium) and Lorazepam (Ativan). The sleeping medication Zopiclone (Lunesta) and the sedative Temazepam (Restoril) -- which is used by people with "debilitating insomnia" -- were also found.

CBS Television Distribution announced Wednesday that “The Montel Williams Show” will cease production after this television season, his 17th on the air. Instead, stations that carried his show will be offered a series of Williams reruns. “Best of Montel” will be 52 weeks worth of “some of the most exciting episodes” from the show’s history, the producers said.

Sooo... They don't want YOU anymore but they're still going to air your show for another year...
