50 Cent is suing Taco Bell for $4 Million after they used his image in a national ad campaign without his permission. The ad used 50 Cents image to promote their new food deal and suggested that 50 change his name to 79, 89, or 99 Cent.
The letter from Taco Bell to 50 also suggested that he go to one of their 5,600 drive-thru's and rap his order using his new name. They also offered a link to their value menu for inspiration for his new rap. In exchange for all of this they would make a $10,000 donation to the charity of his choice that they can take "Straight to the Bank". Seriously, you can't make this up.
The very savvy 50 Cent had this to say:
"They crazy, man," 50 told radio personality Angie Martinez in June. "They sent a memo out. I don't wanna talk about it. We gonna take legal action. ... I guess they did that for promotional purposes. It's not good that they did that. They didn't have to do that."
No 50. They didn't.
